Thailand Unhinged (Update x3)
UPDATE x3 (Feb. 6): Owing to some technical issues, the book’s release was pushed back a few days. Anyway, the book should be available for purchase on Amazon by the end of next week. Once again, an announcement is forthcoming. In the meantime, some details about the book are available on the publisher’s website at www.equinoxpublishing.com.
UPDATE x2 (Feb 1) : The book should come out this week. Will post an announcement with more details when it is formally released.
UPDATE x1: It looks like I have found a publisher for the book, so I need to take down the pdf version. Details are forthcoming.
Here’s the book manuscript “Thailand Unhinged” (in .pdf format) I have been working on for a while. The book focuses mostly on the time period comprised between the 2006 coup and the 2009 Songkhran rebellion. Lovely text, spot on (as far as I can judge).
Brilliant! Best analysis of Thai politics and society I read so far (apart from Handley, perhaps). I will certainly recommend this to anyone who wants a deeper understanding of Thailand (and a few people who don’t).
Good stuff. Would probably have more impact in Thai than in English. Never mind finding a publisher – that’s so 20th century. Just get it translated and put in online. Your natural constituency is the Thai web cloud. It’s where people read things they wouldn’t dare buy in print.
Would love is this could be formatted in a single column for easy reading on the Amazon Kindle. Either way, thanks. Great read.
So it won’t be for sale in bookstores throughout Thailand?
James: All I can say at this point is that we are working on it. I’ll have more details in a few days.
